THE CUBE
The idea
- as I always do on a weekday night, scrolling tiktok I stumble on a cool looking reflective cube. It has a display underneath the glass cube that then shines up into a a cube of glass that has mirrors or some sort of reflective material at a 90 degree angle so it looks like what ever is in the cube is floating.
Day 1
Looking at the little gadget I found that It was around $60 or so with shipping, I thought it was wayyyy overpriced for that, so naturally I I priced everything out with some nice things I wanted to add to it. So after looking into things I found the following
- 30x30x30mm glass cube that will reflect the image,
- ESP32-WROOM Development Board
- Rotary Encoder
- 1.54 inch Full Color TFT Display Module
- W25Q64 Flash Memory Module
This ended up costing right around $100 soooooo it turns out the price they were selling it for is pretty good. So naturally I purchased the stuff to make it for my self. Yup, very financially smart. But its a Hobby so it okay.... or so I tell my self.
Day 2
I 3d modeled up the case and found the models for a few of the components I planed on using, going to print it off while I wait for the parts
Day 3
shocker, prints did not line up multiple time and took many revisions to make things fit... i think
Day 4
Breadboarded the stuff to make sure my ideas really does work
