NFC Jukebox

Day 1

  • found a really cool looking jukebox from minecraft on makerspace and had the idea to make it play real music

Day 2

  • looked into hardware and landed on this esp32 based audio board (it sucks and didn't work.... dont recomnd that)
  • ended up going with this hardware
    • ESP32
    • NFC Tags Sticker with Original NTAG213 Chip NFC Stickers
    • 3.7V 4600mAH batterys
    • PN532 (NFC and RFID reader)
    • 2 28mm round 8 ohm 2 watt speakers
    • basic SD card
    • DFPlayer Mini
    • PLA filament in assorted colors

Day 3

  • spent wayyyyy to many hours making the design in Fusion 360..... not happy with it, prob need to redo it

Day 4

  • had a new idea and a new way to design it better

Day 5

  • lots of printing later assembled everything, a few small adjustments will need to be made
  • breadboard the components to make sure it all works before final assembly

day 6

  • Soildered them bad boys together and shoved it all in place and it all works!
  • just need to print more music disks and we should be done! :)

day 7

  • updated the base so it can better fit the battery and im going to add a on/off button so it doesnt kill the battery

day 8

  • I did not like the way i made it so i will remake it again so the battery is easier to take out and replace

  • I made it so the button and the battery and now glued into the bottom so it remains bottom heavy and its easier to open up and tinker with things as needed. also made the lid bigger so the disks can fit in better

Day 9

  • made the other music disks from my 5 favorate songs, the next thing I want to do with this project is to make a chest that will store the extra music disc's. I have not designed my own hinge before so I think that will be a fun challage to learn how to make one, I have some general ideas on how I want to make one I think but until I get into CAD idk if it will work correctly.

  • The chest doesn't seem to hard to design, It would be nice if I can make it modular so it can ether be a single chest or a double chest, but that might add a lot to the complexity, I do have some ideas on how to do it but as before, idk until I get into CAD and start playing around
